About CCM
Christ-Centered Meditation is your opportunity to join into a gentle, soul-nourishing practice inwhich you are invited you to encounter Christ through the Word of God. The practice of meditation, in the Christian tradition, goes back centuries, as a practice which not only calms our hearts and minds, but to help us connect with the Divine Spirit.
Typically, during our sessions, we follow the Lectio Divina format. Our sessions are open to anyone from any faith tradition. There is no right believe of understanding to participate in CCM... Each person's experience is equally valid.
What is Lectio Divina?
Lectio Divina, Latin for“divine reading,” is more than just reading— it’s an intimate conversation with the Divine. Here’s what it offers:
Peaceful Moments: We start by quieting our bodies and our minds, becoming still, relaxed, and yet alert in a quiet, safe space, away from the hustle and bustle. Let the noise fade as you enter sacred stillness.
The Word Comes Alive: We choose a Scripture passage—usually just a few words. It might be a verse, a psalm, or a story. The words are read outloud multiple times, with long pauses of quiet between the readings. As wequiet your own thoughts and focus on what the Divine Spirit is sharing with us through the verse, the ancient wisdom comes alive in our hearts.
Heartfelt Reflection: Meditate on the passage. What resonates? What stirs your soul? Let the words wash over you like a gentle stream.
Whispers of Grace: Speak to God. Share your thoughts, hopes, and fears. Trust that God listens, even in the quiet spaces.
Rest and Renewal: Contemplate. Be at peace. Sometimes, God speaks in the silence. Allow His love to wrap around you like a warm embrace.
